The Técnico + Verde project aims to develop an integrated plan of living labs installed across the outdoor spaces of the IST Alameda Campus, using the university campus as a space for experimentation. It integrates the development of experimental master’s and doctoral theses on campus with environmental and social education initiatives for the Técnico community, as well as for schools at different educational levels. Through the transversal collaboration of the Técnico community—including R&D centres, administrative services, and student associations—the initiatives aim to make the campus a sustainable, biodiverse, accessible, comfortable, and engaging environment, providing welcoming outdoor spaces.
